We have just returned from a week’s holiday in this wonderful cottage. The owners made our family feel very welcome. We had a lovely welome pack full of goodies waiting for us when we arrived and Sharron popped down to make sure we had settled in ok and recommended places to visit. Lunan beach is a must, we visited around sunset and it was just beautiful! Thank you for a great stay, we would love to return in the future.
We spent a wonderful Christmas at Monument Cottage. It had everything we needed and a lovely surprise welcome package and card. Sharon and Dave could not have been nicer or more welcoming. We enjoyed walks in the surrounding wood. Our dog had the time of her life. It is close to the beach and we spent Christmas Eve on the beach watching the sun go down. Having never been away from home at Christmas we were a little apprehensive but it was a perfect place and we hope to return.
Lovely cottage in an ideal location for us. Arrived to a warm cottage with fire lit, a welcome box of goodies and a welcome letter. Owners were great during stay with suggestions of places to eat, visit and restocking firewood when needed. We were lucky with the weather too so had a wonderful break.
Beyond our expectations! A wonderful week at the beautiful monument cottage and it couldn’t have been better in any way. We arrived from the States with no luggage and Sharon, our wonderful host, became the point person dealing with the luggage delivery service. Help in this matter allowed us to explore the beautiful areas around the cottage, always looking forward to returning to our cosy home and wood burning stove. Our kitchen was well appointed and we so appreciated the welcome basket that greeted us on our arrival. Everything was perfect and we truly hated to leave.
We had a fabulous 10 days at Monument Cottage. It was great for my in-laws in their 80’s with the downstairs bedroom and bath and the whole cottage was immaculate. We found so many things to visit in the area, going as far as Edinburgh and Pitlochry for day trips. We would love to return.
Monument cottage is located in a wood in a secluded spot close to Monikie. Nice walks, peace and quiet, with plenty of wildlife close by is a plus, but this property is also close to whatever you might want in the area. The cottage contains all the modern amenities and Sharon stocks a great welcome basket to get you going. The only negative was we had to leave, we felt so at home! WiFi worked well and google maps brings you right to the door.
Warm comfortable house, fully equipped ideal for all ages plenty of wildlife ie. birds deer pheasants. David and Sharon are very welcoming.
We will definitely be returning

Will definitely return for future holidays.
A fantastic stay for our family of 5 (including 3 children) at this lovely cottage. Woodland setting was both private and pretty - it was especially lovely being able to lie in bed and watch the autumn leaves drift past the roof windows. We arrived in the dark after a long drive, and it was wonderful to come in to a lit fire and a well stocked welcome basket. Sharon was a great host, and the cottage has many thoughtful touches. Local area had plenty to see and do. We particuarly enjoyed a day at Glamis Castle (the Queen Mother's childhood home), which had an excellent guided tour.
